Priced Out is a study that focuses on the severe housing affordability problems of people with disabilities. The study compares the federal Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments of people with significant and long-term disabilities to U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Fair Market Rents for modestly priced rental units. Findings indicate that the national average rent for a modestly priced one-bedroom apartment is greater than the entire SSI of an individual with a disability. This webpage contains fact sheets, national statistics, and historical Priced Out data.
