Guide: CARD: Autism & the Hospital Emergency Room

This guide, developed by the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities, is intended to help hospital staff and other health professionals understand autism and how to better meet the needs of patients with autism. Since the environment of a hospital can often overwhelm the senses of an individual with autism, suggestions are provided that may help reduce the stress associated with trips to the hospital.
