Guide: The National Autism Center: A Parent’s Guide to Evidence-Based Practice and Autism
This guide, developed by the National Autism Center, provides information about evidence-based practices to help parents make informed decisions about the appropriate intervention services. It discusses the importance of evidence-based practices; provides an overview of autism spectrum disorders; outlines current research findings on autism interventions; and addresses other important points that parents should consider.
Note: This publication contains outdated and offensive language when referring to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Although this guide has been identified as a useful resource for parents by the National Advisory Committee, Autism NOW does not support the use of such terms. On the contrary, the Center promotes the use of People First Language.
