Toolkit: Vanderbilt Kennedy Center: Healthy Bodies for Boys
In spite of delays in other areas, children with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities usually enter puberty around the same time as other children their age. This toolkit, produced by the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center, provides resources and tips to help parents talk to their boys about sensitive topics such as good hygiene, appropriate public behaviors, hormones and mood swings. The accompanying appendix contains social stories and visuals that parent can use.
