Guide: Wisconsin Assistive Technology Initiative: Assistive Technology Supports for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder
This guide helps educators and other support staff determine which assistive technology tools and strategies are most useful based on an individual’s needs and preferences. It is composed of four sections: 1) The Student Information Guide is used to gather information about a student with ASD; 2) The Environmental Observation Guide gathers information about the various environments that a student takes part in; 3) The AT Decision Making Guide assists the team in determining which tools are most effective for the individual with ASD; and 4) The AT Tools and Strategies section, which offers descriptions for various high-tech and low-tech tools.
