Autism NOW Webinar: People Are Talking About “Your” Transition

People Are Talking About “Your” Transition

The registration for this webinar is closed, and it is now only available on-demand.

Time: Tuesday, November 15, 2011 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM EST
Speakers: Max Barrows and Kyle Moriarty, Self-Advocates Becoming Empowered (SABE)

Transition means a lot of things: having fun, making friends, learning about yourself, speaking up for yourself, learning new skills to take care of yourself, working and setting a date for you to finish school. Do not be the high school graduate who says, “I found my Transition Team annoying because I had no say.” In this webinar, speakers from Self-Advocates Becoming Empowered (SABE) will present tools and tips on how to support students with autism and other developmental disabilities in taking the lead in planning for after high school. Join us to learn more about how peer mentors can play a role in transition planning and building connections to create a life beyond high school.
